The management committee last night carried a motion to purchase a specialised GPS mapping device which is intended to record more accurate data than the current equipment which is on loan from the Brisbane City Council.
The motion originated from an earlier one carried at the June 1 general meeting. This motion affirmed to purchase the device pending the management committee considering the viability of the purchase and examining means of funding.
It was decided to use our own cash reserves and this represents a major achievement for TM Landcare which was once struggling to fund postage stamps at one time.
This is only made possible by the efforts of those who volunteer to operate The Piccabeen Bookshop and other revenue from membership subscriptions and donations.
We look forward to the digital mapping program expanding for the interests of restoring our natural heritage. |
