The small working group continues to work twice a month in John Dickson Conservation Park - and, by the way, we have recently become aware that our Park is not marked on the local TM tourist map. For those who are unfamiliar with Dickson Park it is an area of 3.5ha between Freemont Drive and Sierra Drive.
Last November an area of lantana at the Sierra Drive end of the Park was cleared and 150 native trees planted in November and December. The good rain throughout the summer encouraged excellent survival and growth and we have concentrated on coping with the weeds in this area.
We have also been monitoring and removing the ever-present intrusion of weeds in the rest of the Park, particularly around the boundary, and also continue to label the many mature trees.
