Today the winner of Tiles for Trees has been announced at a function at the library in North Tamborine. The winning design is called 'Tree of all ages', created by Thor and Bec Andersen. Dep. Mayor Cr. Vanessa Bull called it a beautiful design that will contribute to the beauty of our mountain. The winners receive a cheque of $ 5,000. The other five finalists received certificates of achievement, and the members of the Tiles for Trees committee and the President of the Chamber of Commerce were awarded Certificates of appreciation for their contributions to this project. Landcare thanked the community and Cr. Vanessa bull as well for their participation int he project so far. Friday 17th of August the project will be continued. At 5pm a new committee will be established at a function at the Heritage Winery. That committee will have to find a venue for the selling and production of the tiles and a model to employ artists for the sales and creative activities.
